RF Microwave Design Engineer (Entry Level Position)
Job Description:
Perform the various tasks necessary to design / tune RF / Microwave components and multi-function assemblies to meet customer specifications. Also work in the design, building and testing of prototype units.
Primary responsibilities are the design, development and test of multi-function, RF/microwave microelectronic assemblies. Other responsibilities include in-depth analyses, interfacing effectively with manufacturing, assisting in the resolution of manufacturing issues, and the generation and maintenance of both design and test documentation.
- Design of both single function components (amplifiers, etc.) and multi-function RF/microwave assemblies
- Use of CAD tools (i.e., Microwave Office) to simulate and optimize circuit designs
- Use of CAD tools (i.e., AutoCAD) to generate detailed circuit board layouts and mechanical designs
- Troubleshooting, characterization, and testing of prototype and initial production assemblies
- Support preparation of documentation required for presentation at design reviews, etc.
- Support Operations to transition newly developed products into full production
- When required, support Operation to supplement production test capacity
Activities for this position are not limited to the list above.
Requirements:
- Minimum BSEE
- Knowledge of RF/microwave electronics
- Ability to use circuit knowledge to design multi-function RF/microwave assemblies
- Proficiency with CAD tools such as Microwave Office and AutoCAD
- Understanding of the operation and use of RF/microwave test instrumentation.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read schematic diagrams.
- Creative problem solving skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software tools.
- Training.
