FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MICRONETICS RECEIVES $2.5 MILLION ORDER FOR HIGH POWER AMPLIFIERS.
Hudson, NH - Dec 19, 2006 - Micronetics, Inc. (NASDAQ:NOIZ) announced today that its subsidiary Stealth Microwave, Inc. has been awarded a $2.5 million order from IP-Wireless for high power amplifiers on the Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) platform.
IP-Wireless is planning to incorporate these high performance amplifiers as part of a comprehensive wireless network to be installed in New York City. This wireless network is expected to enhance the existing mobile wireless communications network with secure high-speed data and video capabilities, and deploy several new, advanced wireless applications to support first responders and other public safety personnel. "This broadband application demands performance from the amplifier that was very challenging to engineer" said David Robbins, CEO of Micronetics Inc. "We have worked closely with IP-Wireless over the last few years to develop high performance amplifier technology for this type of deployment and expect more demand for these amplifiers in the future." The order is to be delivered over a nine-month period starting in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2007.
